Moms and Moms to be - M/S

If you had m/s around when did it start? I'm just curious, don't hold back with details either (when in the day, how bad etc).

If you did have it did you always have a feeling that you might get it (like even before you were pregnant)?

Re: Moms and Moms to be - M/S

  • I only had it a few times and it was always right before dinner. I would be craving something and Andrew would make it and then I would go puke and not eat dinner. I felt bad each time. I want to say mine started around 8 or 9 weeks.

  • Yeah 8 or 9 weeks here too...I'm still throwing up and I'm 17.5 weeks. Its mostly my fault because I forget to take my NexiumIck!

  • I thought I would have horrible morning sickness, non PG I have the worst digestive track ever.

But in reality... I've puked maybe 4 times? And it's from the snot that builds up in my empty stomach over night. There's been once, where I just vomited on my own, the rest of the time it came from taking one brush too far back on my tongue and setting off the gag reflex. I'll have one bout of vomiting, but then I'm fine throughout the rest of the day. I did have nausea on and off from week 5-9, but once I got something in my stomach I was ok again. Ritz crackers were my friends.

I really anticipated this pregnancy to be terrible. But it's been soooo easy, I'm worried about the pregnancy for our second child. Like, all of the horribleness is saving itself for round two, haha.

  • I did have plenty of mornings that I hated brushing my teeth since it made me feel like I would puke. I did find that always snacking through the day kept MS away from me, and I just kept it small a few crackers or fruit every two hours.

This. Another reason I'm not interested in having another child! But yeah, I always thought I would have terrible morning sickness (and everything else) but didn't really. I dry heaved once (into my work trashcan) and felt nauseous for a couple days (sour patch kids and lemon drops helped) but nothing to complain about for even a minute.

  • I only threw up three times and the first two times was when I didnt even know I was pregnant. I would wake up take a shower get light headed, get out and puke from not eating. The third time was eating Wendy's after not eating all day and the grease made my hurl... I wont eat Wendy's again.

  • I know everyone is the not the same but it really does sound like snacking is the key in many cases, if you get m/s.

I already get (not pg related) somewhat neuseated when I am really hungry so luckily I have been in the habit for about a year now to keep meals lighter and keep snacks on hand all the time.

  • I know this is not what you want to hear but, from implanatation to delivery I vomited multiple times a day. I had morning, afternoon, evening and middle of the night sickness. It was horrible. I was put on 2 different meds to try and control it and that did halp a tiny bit. I lost weight my entire pregnancy.

  • I really didn't have it at all. I had it it at night, before I would go to eat dinner. I would just feel like not eating, but nothing major. If I did get it, I'd just quick eat some crackers and ginger ale!

No this is exactly what I was looking for just input from people I know, I am just being curious for the most part but I like knowing what other people experienced.

I know a girl that was regularly in the ER because of her inability to keep anything down.

  • i only threw up like 3x but i was constantly nauseous.  Everyone told me to eat several small meals every 2 hrs but I actually only felt better if I ate a BIG meal.  Fountain coke was my best friend no matter how unhealthy it was.  It helped settle my stomach.

  • i threw up pretty much everyday starting from 7 weeks to 12 weeks.  The nausea is basically gone, but occasionally i'll catch a smell of something that instantly has me gagging, and if i can't get away from it or get the smell out of my head i'll throw up.  This happened on saturday from the smell of pizza lol

My puking was mainly right after getting home from work, like literally walking in the door and running to the bathroom.  There were a few times at work (try puking into a toddler potty) because of something gross they were eating for breakfast or lunch.

  • I only threw up a few times, but I had all day M/S.. From the moment I woke up to the moment I went to bed I felt ill.. I even woke up a few times feeling gross. The snacking helped alot and so did the motion bands. You can find them in any pharmacy in the travel section. I also got sick from our toothpaste and I found that switching to a children's toothpaste helped me.
