I have been exhausted the past couple of days and have had a sore throat all day today so I decided to call in. I HATE calling in, but I figured since it's Thanksgiving week there aren't too many surgeries going on and they're probably not too busy on the unit. I haven't called out at all in the second tri and I'm practically in the 3rd, so I'm doing pretty good.

H is going to kill me because I need to save my ATO's for my unpaid maternity leave, but in my defense, I have been coughing like crazy ever since I got off the phone with staffing so I really think I am coming down with something. Just had to share and justfy calling in with someone, lol! Thanks for reading.

I'm working Friday and Saturday and I know they're already short those days so I won't be calling in!
Re: Called in sick
Do you take care of patients after their transplant?
Ya'll do a lot of transplants over there. My Dad said my step mom flew out somewhere today for an organ.
Yup, heart and lungs on my unit. We have done at least 40 something of each this year! That's a new record! That's awesome that your stepmom flies out for an organ. She's an RN, right?
Yes, she is an RN. .. They flew to GA today. Last week or the week before they got 2 hearts...
I had no idea it was that "Common."
