  nope. I hate furniture polish for that very reason, so we don't use it!

  I can't tell you what's causing it (it may just be day to day build up) but I can tell you how I got mine back in shape. Warning- it's a PITA, but will work.

  Fill a mop bucket with 1 gallon of water and 1 cup white vinegar (I generally do this in half because I like to keep the water clean and refill often)

  Slightly dampen mop, and go over 4'x4' section of floor.

  Using a towel, buff all excess moisture and residue from floor.

  I've done it a few times, about every 6-9 months.

  My floors get slippery from sprays - hair sprays, furniture polish, cleaning sprays, Febreeze, etc., My slippery spots are in the bedroom and our upstairs hallway, where most of these products are used. Unfortunately, I feel like I have to use some of those products. I find that just wiping down the floor with a slightly damp terrycloth towel helps (might be TMI, but I usually just do this after I've taken a shower - use the shower I dried off with and just wipe down the floors quickly.) I think I may try shammy79's advice the next time I notice they get sticky, though.
