Crime Scene - not something you see every day

So last night, when my H & I were leaving a play downtown, the Director stops and makes an announcement that 7th & Elm is blocked off due to an "incident".

H & I look at each other like: "Isn't that where we parked the car?"

So after we waited for a K-9 unit to clear us to proceed to the area that's actually taped off as a crime scene, we approached the tape, then had to wait there on the outside of it for the equestrian police to clear us to walk to our car - in the crime scene.

Yup - we got to see my car parked in a taped off crime scene. It was on the news that someone got shot in a car that was parked near mine.

Yuk factor: H recalls us walking past that car on the way to eat before the play. It makes me sad to think that someone could've been bleeding inside that car while we walked past - and we didn't even notice.

Up-side: All of the police officers were REALLY nice to us. The equestrian cop even asked the officers on the scene to let us sit in our car to stay warm if we weren't going to be able to pull out soon. We didn't ask her to do that. They did let us cross the tape to get to our car and then directed us as to how they wanted us to exit pretty quickly. And we got to see the K-9 unit in action - gorgeous dog! But it was made very clear that the dog was off leash and working and we were NOT to get near the dog, approach the dog or distract it in any way. I even made H keep the keys in his pocket b/c I was afraid he'd drop them and freak the dog out.
