I'm irritated

My manager comes in to our office and tells my co-worker that he's taking him out to lunch.  WFT?!?!  Not once has he taken me out for lunch.  I work so much harder than my co-worker.  I actually do my job and don't f around.  I'm always correcting this co-worker's f ups.  Not to mention that I'm always here and on time.  I don't call in and fake an illness because I'm actually too hung over to come in to work.

It's getting really old.  I just feel so unappreciated here.  They dump all this freaking work on me and I do it without complaining about it.  I could be doing so much better than this damn place.  It's time to start exploring my options.  Okay...end rant.

Re: I'm irritated

  • I'm sorry. Spruce up that resume! Are you at least in a field you like? Or would you be starting out with something new? Good luck!

  • Welcome to my world, it's a shiitty place to be right now.  I say get the f outta dodge (easier said than done, obviously, since I'm still at my craptastic job)!
  • Maybe he's taking him to lunch to speak to him about his crappy performance!

Seriously, though, it's completely out of line for your boss to be taking certain co-workers to lunch and not others.

  • I hate to say it, but do you have a good ole' boys thing going on over there?

Sometimes they don't even realize they are doing it.  Maybe he just thought it would be more fun going to lunch with another dude and he didn't realize how it would look.

  • I'm not in the line of work I thought I would be in.  Pretty much took any job I could get after college.  I'll be using up my vacation days and Holiday pay and then I want to leave.  Heck, I might use a few sick days too.

The owner of the company even let this guy use one of his cars so that he would not need to rent a car (he only owns a motorcycle).  Seriously?!?!  Would he have let me borrow one of his cars?  Umm...probably not!

I'm not going to dwell on it.  Let it go and move on to something better.
