Anyone have a good rec for food storage? Right now I just have rubbermaid tupperware type stuff I've had for a few years now and it's starting to wear down and the whole microwaving plastic doesn't sit well with me.
I'd like to get some new nice stuff (glass? or something else?) and thought I could put it on the christmas list my ILs are bugging me about.
Re: Food Storage recs
agreed
When I was on bedrest my friend sent some soup over in one's of these and it was awesome. I haven't gotten any yet b/c my cheap-o glad stuff is still around but I'd like to at some point.
Pyrex, Glass Lock, Frigoverre, Corningware, Anchor Hocking & Libbey.
Pyrex is pretty mainstream and can be found at Wal-mart, Target, BB&B, etc. Glass Lock is at Costco (set), BB&B, The Container Store and I've started seeing them at Marshall's/HomeGoods/TJMaxx. Frigoverre is at Crate & Barrel and The Container Store. Corningware can be found at most department stores, BB&B, etc. I've seen the Anchor Hocking (very similar in look to the Pyrex) in round containers at Marshall's/HomeGoods/TJMaxx.
