so what are your plans for T-Day?
We are going to my mom's with one of my brothers (I am 1 of 6) and his wife and baby - pretty quiet and very excited about it! ...just made homemade cranberry relish and some other treats for the big day! I love eatting!
What are you doing??
Re: so what are your plans for T-Day?
My 3 girls and my FIL will be at my house. Hubby will be cooking the turkey and I will be doing everything else it is a lot of fun and I can't wait to eat all that food!!!
I'll be sleeping all day and working all night
. It's HHs fave holiday so I convinced him to go home to VT to be with his family. It's just me and the cat this week!
Is it really almost December already?! Weren't we all just talking about wedding plans? Happy Holidays!
RIGHT!?!?!?!
We will be going to my Aunt's house to have lunch (2:30) with my family. Half of the family is not coming this year apparently though. My parents and brother/SIL will be there, my grams and my Aunt and her daughter. Oh and my mom's cousin and her husband. But the rest of the fam (my Uncle and his brood) won't be coming for the first time pretty much ever.
Then we will be leaving there prolly around halftime and head back home to meet the in-laws for dessert.
I'm making Crack & Cheese (mac & cheese), sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, pecan pie, pumpkin crumble, cranberry bars & pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.
I think that's it.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
Last night, my dad & sister came to my house to celebrate with me & DH. We all cooked together & had steaks on the grill, rice, green beans, and rolls. I made this amazing dessert called dirt cake (whipped cream, pudding, milk, sugar, oreos, etc etc etc - YUM).
Today for lunch, we're going to my aunt's house and there are going to be 10 people there, including my mom & grandpa & sister......my aunt's new fiance and his parents (who I don't know). Should be interesting. For lunch, I'm bringing pasta salad & cranberry sauce in a can. Hehe.
Today for dinner, we're going to my in-law's house like we usually do. I think she's making chicken cordon bleu because we realized about 2 years ago that 2 huge turkey dinners in the same day was a bad idea.
Then I will come home, unbutton my pants, and sleep.
This is the first holiday season I've ever had without my grandmother (those from TK remember that she got really sick right before the wedding and passed away very shortly afterward). We are at my parents' for Thanksgiving. Because of my mom's health issues, HH and I took over the whole thing. We did the menu and all the shopping and brought everything with us. My parents have an amazing kitchen, so I am in heaven! And it's not nearly as nerve-wracking as I thought it would be.
My uncle (Mom's brother) and aunt are here, along with a longtime family friend. There will be 7 of us for dinner (down from 12...whew!) and we eat at 2:00. HH will go pick up his son tonight at 6:00. Can't wait to have him with us for the WHOLE weekend! We're going to go see Harry Potter tomorrow afternoon. Yay!
Gotta run! It's time to get everything in the oven!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
