Black Friday Facepalm.

It's a big tradition in Josh's family to get up and shop at the asscrack of dawn for a couple hours and then go to this little hole in the wall cafe to eat breakfast... We do it every year. I thought they were insane the first year, but it's really fun. This year, Josh and I went different directions. He went to Target and Best Buy, I went to JcPenney, Walmart, and a sporting goods store called Academy. We met back up at breakfast, and everyone is sharing what they got...

Josh: "I got The Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu Ray for 7.99, Christmas Vacation on Blue Ray for 7.99, etc..."

Sarah: "We don't even have a Blu Ray player...."

Josh: "We do now..."

It made me laugh. We always set a couple hundred dollars each to buy whatever on Black Friday just in case we want to splurge... We don't always use it, but I'm glad he thoroughly enjoyed it this year.

Did anyone else brave the early morning store openings?

I was brave enought to go with my mom and brother to Target. We got there @ 12 midnight to find an already long line in front of us. It was freakin cold!! We still managed to get my mom her 40'' tv for $298. I bought some DVDs.

I would never participate in lining up like that... I need my sleep! But, I love hearing about other's adventures on Black Friday.

I've seen women get in fist fights before. Never men. Always women. GREAT people watching. The past couple years have been pretty tame, I think people are so terrified of the crowds that they stay home to "avoid" them, and it's not really that bad. I have to work at 5, though. Part of me wants to sell a TON of stuff, the other part of me wants it to be dead so we can clean up the store and get out of there on time.

I didn't do the whole crack-o-dawn shopping but I did stop at Old Navy on my way in. It was pretty calm when I got there about 8:30, I expected it to be a lot busier but I did get some good deals so that was nice!

I went out with my friend for 330. It hurt, I'm not gonna lie. I figured I would just stay awake, which then meant I stayed up until about 1 and then woke up at 330. I did get to come home and sleep afterwards while the hubs putzed around the house for the day. We didn't really have any deals in mind, so now I'm home doing my online shopping I already had planned.

I can't do BF shopping, since we're always at the IL's house in the middle of nowhere. My friend works at Gap and scored some deals on my behalf, so I'm good. Her store ended up with almost double their previous best day's sales. Crazy.
