My eye! My eye!
I don't know what's wrong with it, but it's all swollen. It hurt yesterday, and like a moron, I kept my contacts in all day. When I got ready for bed, I noticed that my upper eye lid had a swollen looking bump near the inside corner. I put a warm compress on it and prayed fervently that it would be better in the morning.
IT'S NOT BETTER!!!!
Now, most of my upper eye lid is swollen. I've been sitting around in my glasses all day and that means I can't go anywhere. I put some drops in that sorta helped it, so I may try to do that again. Such a bummer!!

It could possibly be a stye that has spread, causing the swelling. A stye cn be caused by staph and can be easily spread once ruptured causing the spread of infection.
But, it sounds more like blepharitis which is more of an inflammation of all of the eyelid. You can try to get rid of it by avoiding the use of makeup, especially around the affected eye, until it clears up. Using a mild cleaner can help it, even daily use of baby shampoo on the lid can help cleanse the area of any possible causative agents. If it doesn't clear up within a few days of gentle cleansing and eye care (drops, avoiding makeup, wearing glasses instead of contacts, etc) make an appointment with your doctor and they can prescribe you a better cleaner (possibly an antibiotic wash) and maybe eye drops.

Thanks Autumn!! I put my contacts in today, but it still doesn't feel the greatest. I'm going to keep putting warm compresses on it and cleaning it really well. If it's not better by Tuesday I'll probably head to the eye doctor.

The same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. I just put warm compresses on it a few times a day and it went away, but it was painful and warm; and embarrassing!
I didn't need to forgo makeup and contacts, b/c I'm too lazy to use either :P
