S/O Christmas Cards

Happy Sunday everyone!

Is it AW ish to send photo Christmas cards of just you and the hubs? We don't have kids or pets to take center stage and I wondered about this last year too. I did Snapfish cards last year of T and I in Italy.

What kind of cards will you send this year? Or do you not send them at all?

Re: S/O Christmas Cards

  • I think it's totally fine to send a Xmas card with you and T only. For us, in 2008 we did a wedding photo card, it 2009 we did a card with four pics...three on the front (one with each cat, one with a holiday decoration that has our last name on it), and one of just the two of us on the inside. I haven't decided what we'll do this year, but it'll be either jut rustie, or T and I with Rustie. If we didn't have pets tho, I wouldn't be opposed completely to a photo of just us (like we did our first married xmas), or a card without a photo at all. :)

  • I think photo Christmas cards are, by definition, AWish.  ;)  In a good way, though!  I love them and I love to get them!  When I get a photo card of just a couple together (no kids or pets) I usually think, "They look so great!  I'm so glad I have a recent photo of them!"  I say go right ahead and send out pics w/just you and your hubs.  I'm sure your friends and family will love them.  :)
  • We've sent out a photo of just us the last few years. Usually I've bought the Christmas cards that have a place for photos inserts. I finally decided it's worth the slightly more expensive cost to just buy a photo card.

I like getting a photo of people. I have a photo album that I add all the photo cards to every year.

    Me, too!

I don't think it's any more AW to do pics of you and DH than you child/grand child/pet. I've been playing around with them today and here's one mock up. I will probably change the photo of us to one with our Xmas tree when we get it up this week.

  • Absolutely send a pic of you and T! I've always done cards with pictures, now they just include the dog. I just like them with a picture :)

  • Thanks for your help everyone! I love getting photo cards too so I just ordered ours from Snapfish. Can't wait to get them!
  • For whatever reason, I haven't done Christmas cards in a while. I am looking forward to doing it this year (if I can get my act together). I am also looking forward to buying some of the really pretty ones w/out pictures, as this may be the last year to do that :-)
