5 day work week

= BLAH!

Good morning!!!  It was really hard to get up today.  In PA the schools are off because of hunting season.  Anybody else have that?

Re: 5 day work week

  • Closed because of hunting season? Wow! Thats crazy. Our kids usually just dont go in on opening day. I live in a huge hunting/farming area so when there are big events the schools actually have a lower key day so no one misses anything.

Chase's school is closed today for some unknown reason. I didnt even know he had off until Chris called me from the school parking lot to tell me the bus never picked him and the school was closed. Thank goodness my Dad is home today to be able to take him. The closing wasnt even listed on the original calender. I didnt think I had to check back everyday online to ensure there were no changes.

  • Booo I"m not excited but I do have 15 days until my Christmas break/maternity leave so I'm really excited!
  • Oh my gosh Sara she is almost here!!!

Oh, no, school isn't closed for the whole season, just opening day!  In upstate NY, we had to go to school even on opening day.  It seems like it's a huge deal here, so I was curious if that's the same everywhere else.  (Is NY weird or PA weird?)

Wow, you'd think the school would make a big announcement that school is closed!  I'm glad you have arrangements for Chase!

I was just wondering as I walked into this work this morning how parents handle days off school for kids.  I know I don't have enough vacation days if I had a kid, to take a day off every time they had a day off, not counting summer (I assume they'd go in daycare somewhere for the summer).

How are you feeling?  I can't believe both you and Alicia are so close!!!!

  • Thankfully Chase dosent have many days off that I dont have off as well since I am a state employee and work for a school district. The days he has off that I dont either my mom or Chris take off. With my stepdad out of work since we shut down the resturant its been super easy to just drop him off to him on my way to work. I am really lucky to have so many people around to babysit if need be.
