Tired of looking for a house
Is it normal to still be looking after a year and a half? We've only found 2 that we went as far as bidding on and both are still up for sale months later (after not accepting our bid) because they are asking way too much. I'm ready to move on with my life already!
Re: Tired of looking for a house
Well, it's not ABnormal, but it is a pretty long time.
If you have a very specific wish list that you're not willing to stray from (which is not a bad thing, but can make things harder), then it really may take a while to find the right place.
Are you working with an agent? If so, do you like him/her?
And ditto Jeni, give a little more detail as to what you're looking for and maybe some of us may know of something.

Give us more details so maybe we can help you.
You have to remember you are never going to find every single thing you want when you are buying a home. There has to be some give and take. Unless you're building from the ground up and can specify every thing you want.
You might need to switch agents too.
Agreed!
We've got some properties for sale in my neighborhood too! (I lurv my neighborhood!)
It took us over a month 9I know I know it's not saying much vs your year and a half) but I swear we looked at 40 or 50 houses before finding the right one for us. Like pp said is your agent (if you have one) helping you? Giving you leads or are you giving him or her leads?
If they know what you are looking for they might be able to find something for you in a neighborhood you never thought about!
Good luck and it's ok to be picky!
Want to move to Findlay? My sister is still trying to sell her house.
It's a hard process especially if you are looking for somewhere to stay long term. We found ours pretty much right away but we had a great agent and we knew we were only looking for a starter house.
Are you 100% set on Bedford, or are there other areas you'd consider? I will let you know if I find anything that might work for you... I love searching.
I'd also recommend getting a GOOD agent. It doesn't cost you anything, and they can be a HUGE help in finding homes that meet your criteria. It can be really tiring and frustrating doing the searching all by yourself!!
