Our basment flooded while we were out of town!
We were out of town for 4 days over thanksgiving and we came home to find a pipe attacthed to our sump pump broke and was pumping the water into our basement. There was about an inch of water at the deepest spot. We do not have a finished basement, but we do use it alot so we have several large area rugs which are all soked.
We have a carpet cleaner and so we sucked up as much water as we could from the rugs, but they are still damp. I would love to avoid throwing them away, but I am not sure how to get them clean and dry and get rid of any mildew or mold that may be growing. What should I do? Thanks!!
