Well the night before Black Friday anyway.
Thanksgiving night my mom, me, and my sister went to the sale at Toys R Us to try and snag $14 picnic tables (which ended in a bust). We got there pretty late (we thought we were going to be early) and the line was wrapped around the building and going into the residental homes next to it. Anyways, We were walking to the side of the building and there was cops there talking to a homeless man camped out on the sidewalk. People had formed the line around him.
I felt so bad for him. I overheard the cops asking him what year it was and he said "August 09". They told him he was going to have to leave since it was not safe for him to be there since there was a cold front coming in later that night. He asked where he was supposed to go and they said they could either take him to a shelter or he could go to a park.
It just really broke my heart to see him there. What really hurt was there he was sleeping on the ground and I was standing in line to trying to be the first person to buy a picnic table. I was thinking about him the rest of the night when that front blew and hoping he had a warm bed to sleep in and some food to eat.
