I got a message this morning (I couldn't get the phone right away, damnit) from one of the attorneys with whom I interviewed. I called back about an hour later and left a message because he was with a client. Now I'm waiting for him to call me back. He said he "wanted to talk to me again."
Argh!
*UPDATE*
He called. I can haz a job! It's just contingent on me "talking to my husband about it tonight and calling the partner first thing in the morning to confirm and let him know my start date."
Yeah, right. I already talked to E as soon as I got off the phone with the partner and there's no fcuking way I'm not taking this job. You kidding me?! I'm telling them I'll start next Monday!
The money's not terrific, not near what I should be making if the economy was as it should be, and not even what I was looking for in this crappy economy, BUT that's because they've never had to fire an attorney before and the associate they have now really disappointed them, so they're booting her. And so now they're wary and want to start me off lower than I want, but with a guaranteed $10,000 raise in a year if I'm still there.
AND I get 33% of any cases I bring in, including my current few cases that'll likely move with me.
I can breathe again and stop being so stressed and bitchy and crazy. Over money, that is. Now I can just be stressed and bitchy and crazy over work hours and annoying clients and PITA adversaries and dumb judges... like the rest of the legal population! LOL!
Re: Cross your fingers, people. *UPDATE*
Thanks all!

I'm doing the cabbage patch for you Larissa! SO flipping time someone realized your true awesomeness!
Is this in family law?
PCOS and Endo
Ovarian drilling and endo removed 1/3/12
BFP - 3/27/12
Beta's 11, 14, 57, 637, 2800
Sono showed no baby and teeny tiny sac. Waiting to M/C naturally.
General practice.
Small firm, it'll be just 2 partners, me, and support staff, plus one older attorney who's currently "of counsel." (basically, he brings in cases & takes his 1/3 referral fee and lives comfortably off that because he's ancient has has that many connections over the years and this is his way of retiring) Also, in February/March, they're bringing in a Certified Matrimonial Attorney, another woman, who's in her 60s and also looking to slow down. She's coming with a huge book of business, apparently, so they'll want me to take a lot of that, which means I'll be doing a LOT of matrimonial, so that's awesome.
Apparently, I'll also be doing a lot of personal injury (they asked at my interview if I could take and defend depositions and do trials and such) and a lot of real estate closings (he asked me today if I'm comfortable handling closings on my own, which I've done over the years on my own & with firms).
Basically, I'll be doing what I've been doing for 15 years... general practice, heavy on the family law.
And yeah, FINALLY someone gets it!
