Help me shop

I know some people hate this but I'm throwing it out there in case someone's bored. And for those who are done shopping!

Co-worker secret santa: 60 year old male, does all the cooking in his house (him and wife), lives in fairly busy city/town, drinks coffee (mcdonald's every morning), always carries cash (-drew his name 2 years ago and gave him a money clip),

Step sister-in-law: 31, has EVERYTHING, family is wealthy (horse family), wears designer everything. Has a 3 year old and a 1 year old.

Any ideas? I also don't know what to get the kids but I've got a better chance at just picking something for them.

Re: Help me shop

  • Coworker - How about a coffee press? My sister's husband loves his and there are some pretty cool looking ones.
  • Is coworker a wine drinker?

    A nice scarf for SIL?

  • Hmm, coffee press might be a good idea.

Not sure about wine. Another co-worker just said she knows he drinks hard liquor (she obviously knows I have him and not her in the drawing!). Maybe I could get him some glasses, what are they called, high balls or something?

Hmm, scarf...maybe something cashmere...I wonder if I can afford that...

  • I have to agree with the scarf idea if she is for sure that type. A nice silk blend in either a staple color she doesn't have or a trendy color.
  • Co-worker: go for some higher end spices, maybe penzey's if you can order in time.  Or check William Sonoma.

SIL-Since she has 2 kids, what about jewelry to signify them?  Maybe a stamped necklace with birthstone charms from etsy or I just saw this site on one of my blogs and I think the rings would be decently priced, but are handmade, you could do one for each of the kids in their birthstone: http://www.olivebungalow.com/

It's pretty convenient, boil water, pour and press. My sister's husband loooves using it for guests, it's actually kind of funny how giddy he gets over it.

    Ooh, good ideas.

I like the idea of something handmade/sentimental for her b/c then how could she really complain, ya know?

I should point out the limit for Coworker is $25 and the SIL is $75.

  • SIL- Why not  silver/pewter christmas ornaments that she can put her kids christmas pics in. My mom has some and loves seeing our baby pics on the tree.

  • do you knowk what kind of food he likes to eat / cook? You could get a magazine subscription, or cookbook -- depending on whether he likes to try new things and where he gets his recipes (Cook's Illustrated is an awesome magazine I'd read if I had the time to Angel read Beer cook).

As for the Step SIL who has everything -- a GC to her favorite spa is still a fun thing to be able to use. Or to her favorite restaurant.
