This has happened a couple of times on FB, and it is always SO random. I was on FB just now, and saw that one of my friends had commented on a photo of a cute baby, so I clicked on it. The mom of the baby was tagged in the photo, so I checked out her profile. This woman is a complete stranger to me, I have never seen her before in my life.
We have three mutual friends in common. But these three friends of mine are from three completely different times in my life, and have ZERO connection to one another (as far as I know). One is a friend of mine from high school (the one whose comment I clicked through), another is the boyfriend of my college roommate, and the third is the wife of one of H's college roommates.
What are the odds that this woman would know these same three people? None of the three are from the same city, none live in the same city now, they have jobs in completely different industries, went to completely different universities...
I don't know why I find this so weird, but I do. It fascinates me. And like I said, it has happened a few times. Just a reminder that it really is a small world ![]()
Re: Mutual friends on FB
I think the weirdest one for me was back when Facebook informed me that Matt's sister is good friends with one of my exes.
I've now blocked SIL on FB, however, and the ex has been unfriended.
I come across that maybe a handful of times. It's weird to see how small the world really is. Most of my connections are in similar fields/activities/cities, so it's no as much as a coincidence.
This happens to me ALLLL the time! I'm like wait... "how do you know??? and how do YOU know... I'm confused." HAHAHA!
Like Kevin's BM is friends on fb with a girl that I cheered with and was BFFs with for YEARS! Apparently they went to school together. But this is a VERY small school for people with learning disabilities. My girl friend's graduating class was something like 12 people.
Haha, some random guy friended me because we shared the same last name (maiden). I accepted the request and he immediately sent me a message that said, "Hey, if we got married, you totally wouldn't have to change your name!" Greg and I laughed so hard and I sent him a message back that said, "Tempting!"
we're still friends! haha
Haha - Love this Megan!
