Christmas cards
Has anyone started theirs? We got our first one in the mail today and it kind of freaked me out. Like "omg I'm so behind!" Then I looked at the date and realized it's not even December yet....so yea, I'm feeling a little better.
I decided to start writing them out a few at a time anyway. I found a box in the basement with all our holiday stuff that I completely forgot I bought, score! I have a bunch of left overs from last year that I was pretty excited about too but, then remembered that I don't remember who I sent what. So looks like I need new cards afterall!
Anyone else being super crazy about their holiday cards?
Re: Christmas cards
I've sent out a couple batches already, trying to do the Jewish friends, Pagans, and mixed couples first, then Christians. Chanukah is December 1 this year, so I wanted to get those out sooner than mid/late December. Plus, since I put them in our mailbox with the flag up to go out, thereby giving my mailman an extra job, I like to get them done in parts so it's not like I'm making him take 50+ cards with him all at once.
I apparently have 20 out so far, and today went and bought 2 more boxes (30 cards) and some more stamps, since I was running low.

But I'll only be 10.5 weeks along when it comes time to mail them, and now I'm starting to have second thoughts.
Opinions?
I think those cards are absolutely adorable... but you have to be comfortable telling people. That, I can't judge. There's the "not until 3 months" school of thought, the 'it doesn't matter, tell whenever" school of thought, and the "I'll tell them when the kid's here" school of thought.
I don't think anyone else can really decide for you which school you're in, y'know? It's really personal.

We told all of our close friends and family around 6 weeks, but these were all people we would feel comfortable discussing a miscarriage with, God forbid it should happen...I would just keep that in mind?
Otherwise, I think those cards are cute!
I've told pretty much everyone I've seen in person. It's just that holiday cards would go out to more than just those. Perhaps I could just buy some of those and splice in some normal ones?
Sounds like a good way to do it. I know I had to buy 4 boxes of cards, so different people on my list are getting different cards anyway. So can yours!

The Sand in My Snow Boots
We haven't gotten ours yet. We're doing photo cards, and we haven't gotten around to taking a picture. I'm designing them myself, so all we need to do is take the picture, I'll stick it in the file, and we'll upload them to Sam's.
I have been working on my address list, though. It's basically just last year's with a few new friends added in and some people who aren't in our lives anymore removed. I just need to double check everyone's addresses because a lot of people moved this year.
We're doing photo cards, too. We need to get a picture taken. We should've done it last weekend (my dad loves taking pictures) but I was feeling so crappy.
I'm way more on top of the holiday cards I'm sending to donors, lol. Those are already designed and waiting to be printed once I get them approved.
We did the opposite for the same reason. We didn't send birth annoucements, but have a photo Christmas card with one of Will's newborn pictures.
That's a good idea.
We've not told any of our friends yet... I am getting antsy...
