DH and I are in Wisconsin. He has a job interview today, and I had today off so I drove up with him (we live in IL). The interview is for a job he really wants, is in an area we had previously discussed relocating too (he lived in WI for awhile when we were dating and always said if we moved back, the area this job is in is where we would go.) Plus, it's impossible right now to find a teaching job in IL, so relocating would be great for me too. Everything about this is PERFECT....if he gets the job.
When the company contacted him about the interview a few weeks ago, they said it would be 3 hours, (1/2 hours session with several individuals from the company that he would be working with/for.) He had a schedule with names, times, etc. I'm hanging out in the hotel while he is at the interview. His alloted time slot was from 9-noon. I'ts 12:54, and I haven't heard from him yet, and he isn't back. The hotel is 10 minutes from the interview site.
I have such a hard time not doing 2 things. 1 - I'm worried something happened (accident, etc.). 2 - I keep wondering if maybe they really liked him and are spending more time talking to him/showing him around/etc.
Am I crazy? Should I call him? I don't want to interrupt anything, but I really want to know what happened!!!
Re: Nervous. Why am I a worrier?
I'm the same way too.
Just wait it out. He'll be fine. The interviews just probably took longer than expected because I'm sure they love him!
If something happened, he has his cell and he could call but he's probably in with the people who might hire him so he shouldn't pull it out.
Maybe text him if it's been like 2 hours just to see how it's going or something.
Oh come back and update us!!!
That's so exciting! Maybe they decided to give him a tour, and asked if he had anywhere he needed to be, then just stayed. I sense this as a good sign! Or, someone could've been long-winded, and went passed their allotted time.
Good Luck!
July 10, 2010 Best. Day. Of. Life.
I'm sure he is fine! With interviews like that involving so many people, it's possible someone, or even a few people, on his schedule were running late, which could account for his times getting moved to different slots. I wouldn't worry until someone gives you a reason to
Best wishes for his interview process!
Interviews always seem to run late. Someone somewhere along the lines talks too much
Good Luck - will you be in the Milwaukee area?
After 2 hours after he should have been, DH FINALLY called. (I had texted and didn't hear anything.)
Apparently things didn't run according to time. 11-11:45 was his last person to interview with, and by 11:30 or so hadn't gotten there yet, so they took him to lunch (for an hour) and then took him back for the last piece of the interview.
The good news? He thought it went really well, and he found out it's only him and 3 other people!! He originally thought it was about 10-12 with the way it was set up.
Chrissy - it's in Janesville, but DH's best friend and his wife live in Milwaukee, so we spend a lot of time there!!
Keeping my fingers crossed for the next week!! I'll let you ladies know, but thanks so much for the vibes and thoughts!!
