Gym Recs?

So now that it's cold out, I need to find a gym to join.  I really prefer to work out in the morning before working at 7, so the gyms that open at 6am or so are a little annoying to me.  I had a horrible experience at the Roseville Lifetime (they basically screwed me out of $500 when I signed up for a class that was canceled a lot, and it just sucked.)  I'd be willing to try another Lifetime, though- anyone have experience at the Highland Park location?

Any other recs? H and I live near Como/Roseville so anything in that area is preferred.  We did Snap Fitness last winter, which was fine. I'm just looking for something that offers group classes, too, now.

Thanks!

Re: Gym Recs?

  • I go to Lifetime in HP, and I love it.  I think of all the times I have ever gone to class, only once was one cancelled.  And that was due to the instructor's emergency appendectomy.  I mostly go to spin class after work, and in the fall/winter, those classes can fill up quickly, so you have to arrive early, but it isn't too big of a deal for me.  But it sounds like you want AM classes, and I can't speak to how those fill up.  I do know they have them and they are early.  :)
  • I like LA Fitness because its cheap and has classes. I go to their Roseville, New Brighton and Blaine locations and have liked almost all of the classes - but I don't think they have too many early in the morning.  Good luck!
