Are more expensive tires better?
We have to get new tires... I've heard that Michelin tires are the best... but they're also more expensive. Like $430/ea tire vs. $240/ea for a Bridgestone tire...
Anyone tire experts out there?
(May XP in MM)...
Re: Are more expensive tires better?
I'm a pretty normal driver. Nothing aggressive, and I don't drive my car to the snow or anything. My husband, on the other hand... when he drives my car, he drives pretty aggressively. Most of the driving is on the freeway.
I think I'll just go with the cheaper ones. Wheel Works has less expensive Michelin ones (like $250), so I think I'll go with them.
I've noticed that when I used to get tires from, say, Wal-Mart, they were a lot noisier than tires I tend to get now. I drive "normal," have a four-door sedan, and have a light commute. But, since the hubs and my BIL are picky car buffs, they typically tell me to get name brand.
I guess if you don't really notice the noise when the tires hit the road, then I don't know if it really matters.
