We bought our 5 foot noble fir on Saturday. Lowe's was having their 2-day sale so we got it for $19.95, whoo hoo!
So far we have the tree in the stand and that's it. I'm going to string the lights on it tonight. Can't decorate it until the weekend when Richard is home so we can decorate our "first" tree as hubby and wife together.
I also bought some lighted candy canes that I'll put out in front. I'm tempted to decorate the inside of the house too. So far we only have our "Creamy Nutmet" wallflower from BBW. That thing smells so good...I love their wallflowers.
How goes the Christmas decorating for everyone else.

Re: We have a naked tree
We're moving Saturday so the plan is to keep the tree out and decorate it Sunday while waiting on the DirecTV guy to come between 12-4. I have some huge wreaths for Jeremy to hang on the outside of the house and we have a huge blow-up snowman that fits perfect in our new neighborhood and all their decorations.
I really, really, really want a nativity set to put on the mantle of the fireplace so I'll be searching for that this week.
Best of luck to you waiting for DirecTV. I think Michael's has nativity sets. I was there on Satruday and it was Christmas everywhere! I was tempted to buy more stuff, but I had a bunch of decorations at my parents. I say had, because my decorations have mysteriously "disappeared." So it looks like I will need to buy more decorations. I have always wanted a lighted polar bear. I saw one at Costco once. It was the momma polar bear with the baby polar bear, and it was the cutest thing ever!

I can't listen to Christmas music. It's all thanks to my days of working retail. Just imagine having to listen to Christmas music every day from Nov thru Jan. Yeah, not fun.
yeah.... I refuse to listen to xmas music or put up a tree till the 10th or so.
I think we waited till the week of last year.
Also...I know I suck, but I really don't like live trees. They are so messy!

DH and I owned a store in a mall, so we played our own music. Christmas techno all the way! It was sic
And you didn't really celebrate Thanksgiving either. Sad!
Well I was kind of happy about not having to travel for Thanksgiving - we usually do celebrate though!
We spend Christmas with Jeff's family, but we just don't see the point in decorating when we're not home. They have a tree, and stocking for us. I'm not a fan of putting up decorations this early, anyway. When I lived at home we just had lights outside the house, the tree, and a Christmas village. I loved decorating the tree and setting up the village, but we don't really have space in our apartment and we won't be home on Christmas to enjoy it. I do plan on decorating when we have a house someday.
Don't feel bad. Neither do we. Usually we travel for Christmas so there's no point. Maybe when (if) we have kids we'll start going all out.
Makes sense. We're homebodies and NEVER travel. I have no concept of not being home for the holidays, so we decorate like crazy.
Steph-I just watched Christmas Vacation on Saturday. I'm now picturing MFD effing w/ each twinkle light
Tom's the same way...we will decorate when he gets home from hunting. He does all the lights, wreaths, garland, etc all over the house...outside, in the windows, on the tree...he LOVES Christmas.
I just let him do it all and get drunk watching him!
