Update
I figured it is time for an update on my dad.
Friday he had bypass surgery in which they ended up doing five bypasses. Surgery itself lasted about six hours and were by far the longest six hours of my life. After surgery he had a lot of build up in his lungs and gave him medication through the ventilator to help clear it up. This were cleared up by Sunday morning so Sunday night they excabated him and woke him up. He was joking around with his nurse right away even though his throat hurt and he had a hard time talking. Yesterday they got him out of bed and into a chair for a total of three hours and the PT got him to stand up. His stats looked the best they had last night. He got pretty upset yesterday though when he was asked what the date was and he realized that he was sedated through my birthday. 
My mom and I had been staying in a hotel since Wednesday to be with him. Since he was doing good yesterday and didn't want us hanging around the hospital we drove home last night so we could do laundry, get more clothes, pay some bills, and so I could coach tonight. We are going back tomorrow and it looks like he will be in the hospital for another 7 - 10 days once he leaves the surgical ICU.
