Pregnancy hormones, maybe... but I am so stressed out right now, I can't stand it.

Some may know the story but here goes....

DH and I jumped the gun when we found out we were pregnant and my stepfather bought us a beautiful crib from JCPenny (in espresso, shown in black):

When we found out we were having a girl, I immediately started thinking "Shabby Chic" and started regretting my crib color choice. My younger brother called me and told me that he couldn't get approved for a credit card large enough at JCPenny or BRU to get the crib that they liked, and wanted to know if I wanted him to purchase me a new crib (in white) and he would take our other.

Well after searching and searching, I fell in love with the Graco Victoria.

The crib arrived Friday, damaged and FedEx even left it out in the rain, instead of putting it under our front porch awning. Today I received the replacement crib and again it arrived damaged. This time, I called Graco to see if they could just send me out new parts so I did not have to keep lugging around large crib boxes. Graco has discontinued the crib and does not have the parts to send me. Now I am stuck and can not find a crib that will match the antique dresser that we are refinishing for LO's "Shabby Chic" nursery. It is taking everything I have not to sit here and bawl my eyes out. I wish MH was here to help me search for a new one.

My brother purchased it from Walmart. This is the issue. He needs to use a Walmart or Target card and Walmart keeps sending me damaged cribs. He has a baby due any day now and offered to pay the cash for the crib today, but I can't ask him to do that. He is taking our other crib this weekend.

Walmart seems to be notorius for sending out damaged cribs as ours was damaged as well.

Try contacting customer service and see if there is anyway they can help you out.

Walmart must have the tendency to send out damaged products. We ordered a crate for Emma from there and it arrived damaged. It looked like it had ben flung down a cliff, there was even a giant hole in the box! DH was able to fix it himself but was piiisssssed!! What is damaged on the crib?

Have you tried ordering any of the Wal-Mart cribs using the site-to-store delivery option instead of to your house? Maybe it would be less likely to arrive damaged if it's just being sent directly to a Wal-Mart store...worth a shot anyways!

Or have you looked for a similar crib from Target...I've ordered large items from them before and they've always arrived intact and not broken. How frustrating though!

Can your brother just order or buy one at Target or Walmart for himself, and then you try to exchange your JCP crib for something different. Im sorry you are going through this. Sucks major.

What is damaged on the crib?

There are dents, chips and dings on a lot of the pieces. There are several that look as if they were touched while waiting for the paint to dry and were painted over several times to try to cover it up. The front feet are supposed to be balls but both right feet that I received from both packages have 4 flat spots that go around the ball, and theres a round ring at the bottom, that is completely distorted on one of them. I could go on and on.....

Basically, I don't have the energy to keep getting on the phone with Walmart and having them send out crib after crib not to mention, I have to lug these big boxes to USPS because those are the only return shipping labels that they will give me.

I am even more upset because I can't find a cute "Shabby Chic" crib anywhere.... even if I were to take my brother up on his cash offer... there aren't any that would match her dresser (for under $400)

The dresser looks similar to this one, but its got an oval mirror with scalloped arms that hold it to the dresser.... and its a lot prettier IMO.

Oh hun we will try to help. I have looked at so many sites for cribs, have you tried simplybabyfurniture, babycribstation, csn.com? Just to name a few maybe, u can have the Walmart crib returned and then try to find another one. I will look online for you tonight.

Thank you. I think I may love that crib. The legs match the legs on the dresser, and it has the appliques that I fell in love with on the Victoria crib.

We already have the bedding and have "built" the room around it. I just think it looks awkward with an antique white crib:

USPS will pick up at your home if you call ahead. Hopefully this will help you from having to lug those boxes to the post office.

I was up until 2am last night searching cribs. I found one that I really like (its all over that Baby Room Bio) but I can't find it online anywhere...I think its been discontinued...

Not yet. I found out its a Jardine crib, which Baby Bargains rated an F b/c of their safety concerns, recalls and intentional hiding of safety problems. I'm trying to find out if it was recalled, but I have no idea where to go.
