I remember awhile ago someone posted about dealing with a terror of a buyer on Ebay but I cant remember who it was or how it was handled.
I have been selling some stuff on there for the last couple months just to get some extra money and have been doing great. No complaints. Well until I dealt with this one guy. He bought the Kim Kardashian Playboy from me (it was my BFs grandfathers and we have no use for them). I sent it out after I received payment which was almost a month ago. I have gotten 2 emails from him saying that he has not received it yet. I have told him that it was sent out and on what date. It was sent out first class through USPS. I honestly think he is just screwing with me bc everything else I sent out I havent had any complaints. I really dont know what else to tell the man. I feel that there isnt anything I can do after it is out of my hands.
Any advice would be appreciated. TIA.
Re: Ebay ?
Until he escalates it to a claim, there's really nothing he can do to you. If he does escalate it to a claim on PayPal, then it's his word against yours and if you don't have a tracking number to provide, he will probably win and you'll have to give him his money back.
In the future, it's sometimes worth it to buy the Delivery Confirmation when you ship via USPS. You can build that cost into your shipping costs.
It was me that had the PITA buyer who kept threatening buyer protection on me and tried to claim she never received her package, in the end she sent me a message telling me how much she loved the item and told me if I left her positive feedback she would leave me positive feedback. I just ignored the message, that lady was off her rocker.
I always.always.always send with delivery confirmation and for any item that is worth more than $50 I make the buyer purchase insurance.
I am now dealing with another issue where someone filed a claim with their credit card company saying that an item was illegally purchased with their credit card. It was $5 with shipping so not that big of a deal, but it's just one more reason I don't plan to sell on ebay anymore.
As a seller you are basically left at the mercy of ebay and paypal and the buyer always seems to win, it sucks.
