What are you getting Hubby for Christmas/Chanukah?

H is one of those guys who is hard to get presents for because he doesn't want a lot, and has most of what he needs...so I'm trying to get him a neat gift that won't end up collecting dust...while I consider my options, what are you getting for your Hubbies?

Re: What are you getting Hubby for Christmas/Chanukah?

  • We're not really doing "gifts" this year.  We're going to buy ourselves a new mattress (King size whoop whoop!) instead :)  I *think* I want a Tempurpedic and those are pretty pricey so that's all we'll be doing.  Plus, we have so many things we need to buy for Gratia and the new place that doing normal gifts this year just would hit our savings too bad.  Buuuut.... I always do stockings so I think I'll get him just some little things like candy and maybe replace the bama flip flops I got him last year that he wore to death.

  • I have most of H's gift bought already. His birthday is 10 days after Christmas, so this list includes both.  I got him 2 hoodies, a cd, a couple ornaments (I'm a big ornament person), a Wii game and some movies.

  • I'm actually thinking of doing something similar...we're getting wood plantation shutters for our first floor windows and upstairs bath in a week, just in time for having guests over (yay!), and as they are fairly pricey, I told H not to worry about getting anything for me...so what you guys are doing is actually a neat idea (king size? I am so jealous!!! Our queen can barely fit us and both dogs!)...

But I will try to get him a neat smaller gift...just don't know what!!

  • I decided that for the new house I would get a system where we/he could attach something to the computer so we could play music from our itunes library anywhere in the house. Its complicated involving an airport and speakers or something but the person at the store explained it and it sounds like a good plan soooo here's hoping it works! I know he had been wanting something like that for a while.
  • I gave DH his Christmas present/birthday present early...adjustable weights.  I don't plan on getting him anything else...well maybe a little stocking stuffer...

  • So far all I've gotten him is a Springsteen CD/DVD box set. It was pretty pricy and probably would be sufficient, except that I looked at our credit card balance today and saw that there's a charge to Amazon for the exact price of the Kindle I've been dropping major hints at wanting Big Smile. It looks like I have an E-reader in my future.

Since the Kindle's about $100 more than what I've spent, I might try to get him at least a couple other little things... I have to figure out what though. His bday is in February so I may just get him a really nice gift for that.

  • I am thinking maybe an e-reader, but not sure yet.  We did say no gifts because we bought a really nice tv recently, so we will have to talk it over some more.

Is this going to be the baby's name??? So pretty!

  • I got him some clothes and I'm getting him something for his computer. But it's sold out right now so I'm hoping they get more in stock soon!
  • My hubby is a low-maintenance guy, and it can be hard to buy for him as well. He won't wear jewelry, or even a watch. I got him a robe and a grill cover so far, then he wanted some of those nylon jogging pants, so I may get him those from Amanda. I wanted to get him a drill but my mom beat me to it.  I also want to get him a shaving kit, the rest of his Return of Bruce Wayne comics from the series (he LOOOOVES Batman!) and he's a runner so I want to get him a gift card for a foot reflexology massage.

  • We decided not to do gifts, but we are still doing something for each other. We are going to see "The Lion King" this weekend and going out to dinner and calling it our Christmas celebration. It should be a lot of fun and we have fantastic seats since he got a special email from AAA and we got to buy early (something like 20-25 rows back, dead center on the floor). I'm so excited!

  • We had planned on not doing much, but we have a bad tendency to spoil eachother.

I am getting him a PS3 and a bunch of games to go with it. I consider it a good investment for both of us...we like playing games together and it will be good to have a Blue Ray Player.

I think he knows it already....

Thank you very much, K - I have just found H's gift! A new grill!!! Woo hoo!! We were thinking of not doing big gifts, but you know what, it's Christmas! Think I'll go for it :-)
