It seems like a lot of people (not just here on TN, but IRL friends too) are doing photo Christmas cards. Dave and I aren't. We never have. Our families never have either. I imagine once we have adorable little babies that we want to AW we will...but that is not gonna be this Christmas, lol! So I don't want anyone to be disappointed when you get our regular old store bought Christmas cards, ok? I love getting photos but we are just not organized enough to get them done ourselves. We still haven't gotten any wedding photos printed for gods sake!
Re: Christmas card ladies!!
hahahaha awesome
We don't usually do Christmas cards, but for you guys I'm going to buy some that benefit either Duke Children's Hospital or UNC Children's Hospital (they're right by each other in the store, lol).
Still haven't found a great ornament.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I wanted to do a photo card (my husband is a professional photographer after all) but nope...we haven't had time to get a family picture of us and the dogs, so I am buying normal ones on my lunch break today.
When is everyone mailing theirs out? I was going to shoot for this weekend.
I am doing mine now, so hopefull will get them sent out by the weekend. Maybe earlier. Maybe later. Who knows with me.
And you girls are all a lot nicer to your men than I am. I didn't even ask Dave if it was ok to give out our address to a bunch of internet strangers, lol! I just did it...he might have questions when all your cards start showing up, but more likely than not, he won't even notice.
I have a boatload of friends from all over the world from all the travelling I did when I was younger, so it's not unusual to get stuff postmarked from Ireland, or England or Germany...I don't think he'd care regardless.
Dup post.
Last night HH asked me something about me being on the laptop and I said I'm talking to my nestie friends and he rolled his eyes and told me I was dumb lol He just doesn't understand...
Same here! And ya'll are getting a big ole' fat card from me with our wedding pictures on it! LOL! I figured that the cards I am sending to family and other friends will be the sames one I send to ya'll since I got a great deal with Shutterfly. And this is the last time I can whore out our wedding pictures before the year is over and we have little babies.
I ordered photo holiday cards for the first time ever this year. Just did the order last night. Then got an e-mail from Mixbook saying I could've gotten them for $.09 less per card if I'd waited until today...ugh! It's only $4.50 so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it (like I did the $55 from Michael's last night!). I ordered a bunch of prints for Christmas gifts too, so the whole order should be in by the middle of next week. I'll be sending everything out as soon as I can after I get the cards!
I got my ornament a few weeks ago when I stumbled onto it.
And no, I didn't bother to ask HH about sharing our address with everyone. I just did it. I think he'll enjoy all the cards though!
I did photo cards, just because it seemed like we never actually did anything with our engagement pics. Also, this is our first Christmas as a unit, so I was excited to get to be all "YAY We are MARRIED and send cards and gifts as a joint entity now!"
I didn't ask Matt about the card exchange. I was going to, but then I realized that a year ago he was still talking to dozens of people that he'd met in chat rooms back when that was still cool. I was the only girl he met online that he actually dated, but he'd met several people from the web IRL before, too. So I figured he wouldn't have a problem with it.
I didn't ask Dan how he felt about it and still haven't told him that I'm sending cards to everyone. I'm sure he would think I was crazy for wanting to send cards to "internet friends", so he won't find out until everyone's cards start showing up.
We did photo cards. We got 100 for $15 from Sam's Club. I just picked them up and I'm not real sure how I'm going to fit them in my luggage since I just have a carry on. I didn't really think that one through.
I TOTALLY did photo cards!!! But it's not a wedding photo. Not a professional photo either, HAHA! It's actually a picture from a photo booth at one of my best friend's weddings. I bought the digital copy from the company for like 3 bucks and he threw in another one from our set for free.
And then I just uploaded my pretty little picture to Vistaprint and picked a card! They came in last week (Tuesday or Wednesday) but I'm still waiting for the ornament to come in from the Etsy seller. I'll prolly wait until then to send everything out so I only have to make one post office trip but I might print the address labels and get the cards ready tonight!
ETA: don't feel bad J... we don't have any wedding prints yet either but I'm about to order them because our photogs are doing a holiday print sale. We're giving each of our parents a framed enlargement (of their choice) for Christmas. I'm also thinking about giving my brother & SIL a framed pic of them with the kids from the wedding.
We're doing this to, except I just ordered 4 8 x 10's of our formal wedding photo (I'm giving my grandparents one too). I found some pretty black frames at Big Lots on Saturday for $5 each and I've got a coupon for $10 off any purchase this weekend! I'll be going back on Friday or Saturday to get 4 frames for $10!
1) I'm doing photo cards, but only because Shutterfly is giving 50 free cards to people who write a blog post about their Christmas cards. I just did the blog post & have to wait a few days to get the free code and then get them in the mail so my cards will be way late. Oops.....at least they'll be cute.
2) Totally didn't ask DH whether he cared about the nestie card exchange. I told him about it last week when I was explaining why I needed the 50 free cards from Shutterfly. Haha.
3) Goontz -- First of all, I always type your name wrong & have to fix it. Second of all, I didn't know your hubby was a photographer! Cool!
This is the first year I'm doing a photo card, in the past I've done the store bought cards and hand wrote them all. But this year I decided to be cute and did a picture of me Jay and the cat! LOL I just ordered them tonight! I can't wait til they arrive.
I didn't ask Jay about the card exchange. I just told him we were doing it and he said ok. He thinks its funny that I call your my nesties.
This and This! We still havent picked our photos for our album - LAZY!
