Re: s/o what you want to be when you grow up
Do you love your job? not entirely
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember? I choose my major in high school and finished college with it. Never second guessed it that whole time.
Is your job related to your schooling/degree? Yes
What did you want to be when you were little? I remember wanting to be a radiologist because at one point I learned they were the highest paid Dr. (whether that was/is true or not I have no idea) and my Mom told me they didn't work very many hours. Hilarious because there is no way I could ever survive med school now.Boy/girl twins born at 37w1d and 37w2d
Do you love your job?
Yes. However, my last day here is Friday. Ha! But I'm only leaving because I'm moving to Chicago. Otherwise, I absolutely adore my job. I work in events and marketing for a large Minneapolis nonprofit. It has been challenging and has given me the opportunity to grow. I took this job to stretch my skills and it did just that. And further taught me what I want to do with the rest of my life.
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember?
No. I changed my major about 10 times in college - I wasn't solid on a "career path" until the last year or so. And it's only been recently that I've been confident in what the next step in my career is.
Is your job related to your schooling/degree?
Not entirely. My degree is in political science and theater. I got into the events industry doing political events, and that eventually led to corporate and nonprofit events. So the path was forged by my degree, but I don't use a lot of it now.
What did you want to be when you were little?
A lawyer. And I considered law school after college, but I'm so glad I didn't do it. The parts I dreamed of were the presentation parts - arguing a case, giving closing arguments, etc. But I've found other ways to incorporate those feelings and dreams in my life through public speaking. And fundraising in general is all about making your case.
I do not love my job.
It is the job I fell into after graduating high school.
I am just finishing my A.A. degree this month, so no it's not related to my degree.
I was never sure. But I had always leaned towards journalism.
Do you love your job?
No. It's a job and it pays the bills. When I moved to Duluth I applied and got a job as an HR Assistant. I hated it pretty much from the start, in large part due to my co-workers, but also because the job wasn't really that great. Within 6 months I was promoted to a higher position in the department doing payroll and such for faculty members at the college I work at. It is better....I like working with numbers, so that helps.
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember?
Definitely not!
Is your job related to your schooling/degree?
No, I went to school for 2 years right out of high school, and I never completed a degree. I am currently trying to finish my 2 year degree so I can transfer to a 4 year college and get my degree in Occupational Therapy!
What did you want to be when you were little?
A singer or a broadway star!

Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember? No. I started thinking about being an attorney some time early in college and finally went to law school 7 years after I got my undergrad degree. I wanted to get into criminal or constitutional law. It's a total fluke that I ended up practicing immigration law and I love almost everything about it.
Is your job related to your schooling/degree? Yes.
What did you want to be when you were little? A ballerina until my dance teacher crushed my hopes and told me that I had to lose weight - I was 5 and completely heartbroken. After that, I wanted to be an explorer. I still remember sitting in my room daydreaming about all the places I'd go.
Tired after a long morning of hiking and swimming.

I love teaching all the different parts of FACS too - like today, I have 2 classes that I'm cooking for - makes my day fun.
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember?
No. When I was younger I wanted to be a detective or work for the FBI, then a skating coach, then an English teacher. When I got to college, I was blown away by the different majors. I went into retailing and consumer sciences at that point, mainly because I liked to shop and I'm good at selling stuff.

Do you love your job? I wouldn't say love, but I do like my job. Most days. I love my co-workers. And I really like the type of work I do (PR / graphic design), but I would probably be happier doing similar work in a different industry. I currently work in sports, and I'm just not passionate about sports ... at all.
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember? Not at all. I kind of fell into this job.
Is your job related to your schooling/degree? Nope. My BA is in geography & history. I planned to be a social studies teacher :-)
What did you want to be when you were little? I always wanted to be a teacher. When I was a kid, I mostly wanted to be a teacher because I could have summers off. I always felt bad for adults who had to work all year long and didn't get summers off :-)Mr. Sammy Dog

Evan James was born 1/24/13 and matched with us 2/20/13. The LOVE OF MY LIFE!!!
Do you love your job? Yep...Even on the days that I want to cry and run screaming from the building (like last night, when I had to call the cops to check on my patients husband...) The days where I feel I make a difference make up for the really horrible days.
Is it the job you always wanted to do for as long as you can remember? I've always been fascinated by medical science...but nursing didn't truly become my passion until my dad got sick and passed away back in 2003.

What did you want to be when you were little? I wanted to be a lot of things; a lawyer, a vet, a doctor, a writer, but my biggest dream was to be a singer. My dad was in a band when I was growing up and I was a major choir geek (think Gleek!). My dad and I would jam together and I LOVED that.
But, I got completely pulled to nursing!
