Christmas has come early! (w/ product reviews)

Ok, I admit, I left early to pick up packages that I knew were coming.  I'm glad I did since three haven't arrived yet, and the leasing center closes in ten minutes.

My Victoria's Secret sweaters came yesterday and I was underwhelmed - one was surprisingly too big even though it was skin-tight on the model (guess they really pinned that sucker back!) but it's still cute, wearable, and not worth returning considering it was $20.  The other is also a little different than expected, but I wore it today and got compliments so I'm happy.

The Express stuff is here now and I'm having a private fashion show now - love it all!  My J Crew order should come any minute now, along with two other packages of super duper secret Christmas presents.  Is it sad that I'm also excited to wrap these gifts?

Re: Christmas has come early! (w/ product reviews)

  • Only one of my things came in and it was a Christmas present for H. I'm impatiently waiting for everything else.

Which sweater was it from VS? I was thinking of getting the v-neck one you posted since I have a coupon for $10 off and there's free shipping over $50 until tomorrow.

Its not sad at all, I like wrapping my own gifts.

  • the boucle one:

is the one that's bigger than expected.  I ordered a size up because it looked tight on the model, and I DEFINITELY recommend going with your regular size (even you, with the huge tatas).  It would still be a little loose on me in my regular size, but in a good way.  I do think it's cute in the bigger size, but it's an oversized-sweater look, which I'm not usually in the mood for.  Again, so not worth returning since I will still wear it, just not as much.  The color is GORGEOUS in person (more black heathered throughout than you can see online though), and it's uber soft and not itchy.  So I recommend it.

The other one is a little big in the chest on me, so if that's the one you meant, it will probably be perfect for you.

    This is the other one:

It's a lot lighter in person, too.

  • Nope the boucle one is the one I meant. I can't decide on the color. I like the color you posted, the green and the brown. Such tough decisions.

Maybe I'll just get two in different colors. I think my last shirt from them was a small and it was kinda big. And seriously, with my boobage, a small should never fit.

  • I don't know if they're still doing the free scarf promotion, but that scarf is SERIOUSLY soft.  I was surprised - I wasn't even going to add it because I have a bunch of scarves, but I figured since it was free I might as well.  I wore it today and didn't want to take it off, ever.

  • This sweater from J Crew:

    image

is seriously itchy.  So if anyone was thinking about getting it, just be forewarned.  You'll probably need a tee under it. It doesn't bother me on the sleeves, but it does on my chest/shoulder area.  If you're really sensitive, I'd skip it.

  • This J. Crew sweater runs big, and isn't cute baggy:

I'm actually going to have to return/exchange it. :(

And I HATE going to the mall this time of year, so I may suck it up and pay for the shipping.  :(

ETA: I do think this sweater would be cute if you order a size down.  I probably wouldn't get this color though (muslin) because it's sort of see-through.  I have to wear a shirt under it, anyway, but where the kangaroo pocket is, it's not see-through so there's this weird patch.

  • Now I do see you infatuation with sweaters.  Are you sure you weren't a sweater in a previous life?

  • So jealous of your VS sweater purchases! I have been drooling over that boucle one for quite a while, just haven't bit the bullet and bought it. *sigh* Apparently I need to and soon.

You do have a sweater problem. FYI. :)

  • I fully appreciate your sweater addiction. I have the same problem and I only have winter for maybe a couple months out of the year. I've gotten better with it but I do have get new sweaters every year. I just love them!

  • My JCrew order came today.  I love my new down coat and black top!  So far, so good!

I have three other online orders I'm waiting on.  One has already been shipped so I'm expecting it within the next couple of days.  Two others are still "in process."  Boo.  One of the "in process" orders includes all of the stuff I got for DH, which I'm more anxious to get than my own stuff!

I've also found a gold sweater from Michael Kors, a Burberry jacket, and a pair of those knitted Uggs that I think I must have =).  Free shipping on all of them, so we shall see!

  • I would like to see this gold sweater, city!!

I justify spending money on sweaters because I don't really have this problem with warm-weather clothes.  And I have some sweaters from college that I still wear on a regular basis, so they last a looong time for me as long as I take care of them.  And still, I do shop the sales!

  • MICHAEL Michael Kors MICHAEL Michael Kors Shimmer Sweater & Skinny Cargo Pants

Here's the sweater!  I kinda like this entire outfit lol but I'm not brave enough to do all one color up and down like this I don't think!

  • LTB - I have the boucle and it fits really well.  I'm a 34DD (borderline DDD) and I ordered it in Medium.  It fits really nicely with a tank underneath.  I have the chocolate brown and wear it with a light brown tank.  It's so soft and warm and comfy!
