AW: DH got a job!
We're so excited! He got the call this morning!
It's been a while, but I posted in July 2009 right after our wedding that he'd gotten laid off from his engineering job. In March 2010 he was offered a stockroom position at Target and he took it, figuring he needed to get out of the house and go earn some money rather than just live on unemployment. He's really enjoyed the job actually, despite getting up at 3am to get there. (Job is 4am-9am). He'll probably continue working there on weekends.
He got interviewed for this new job back in January 2010 and the job was offered to someone else. In September, he saw that the job was reposted (or someone else in the department had left, leaving a vacant position), and he applied again. He got a letter saying he didn't qualify, so he called and told them he'd actually interviewed for the same position 9 months prior. They had him go through an appeals process (weeeeird) and he landed an interview in October, with the same people he'd interviewed with before. 6 weeks, 1 lengthy background check and a doctor's physical later, he got the call today that he starts work on December 8th.
2 weeks ago, we weighed out the options of filing for bancrupty when we realized how dangerously low the 401k had gotten by using it to pay our mortgage, and today he got the job he's been hoping for. We're so excited!!!!
