I forgot to tell y'all
I actually knew about this a few weeks ago because my principal called me but I thought this was cool....
A school district 2 hours away from has a school with the same statistics regarding population, income etc and they are struggling with their students TAKS (state assessment) scores big time. So, they saw our school on the TEA (Texas Education Agency) website and saw how awesome our school's scores are and how HIGH they are. Well, they wanted to come visit and see what we do.
Long story short - they came to visit today. My principal specifically wanted to show them my classroom when I teach but also when I go into a general education teacher's room to team teach and do inclusion.
They came, were impressed by our special ed stuff and specifically me. They are talking about wanting me to come visit their school and teach them how I teach and do what I do.
This was seriously like the highest recognition I could ever get outside of my kids
