Re: Travel Plan for 2011
Brian and I are going to South Padre Island in Feb and then San Antinio for a few days to meet up with our friends from Austin. I can't wait.
Not sure what our plans will be for a family trip. We thought about Seasame Street Place in PA, however our vacation fund will be pretty empty from the TX trip, so we might just do something low-key.
We have nothing booked at this point. However, we're considering the following:
- A long-weekend trip for me and my mom. It would be in either the winter or spring. Probably a city destination, but no idea where yet (although we've tossed around Montreal, Boston, and Charleston). Plans for this trip have been put on hold because of health problems that my mom and my grandpa (who my mom is caring for) are having.
- Last weekend, some friends of ours asked if we would be interested in vacationing with them and some other friends in April. This would proabably be an all-inclusive somewhere warm. No idea if this is going to happen though since its very early in the planning stages. And our friends were somewhat drunk when they asked us!
- A 7-10 day trip for my husband and I which would probably be in the fall. We're talking about Hawaii (airfare is cheap now!), but we're in very early talks on this subject.
Going anywhere fun in January?
Sweden would be awesome, I'm sure!
We have nothing booked yet. But tentatively planned:
Feb - NOVA/Biloxi
April - Costa Rica
Late next year we have talked about Hawaii, Aruba or Alaska. But....realistically who knows.
I'll have a couple of restaurant suggestions for you. Other than that, no other suggestions if you stay in Phoenix. We were only there for about 36 hours, and we spent most of it at the pool since it was too hot to do anything else. Although we did manage to get to a couple of awesome restaurants.
I'd love to go to Costa Rica! It sounds awesome.
Well, I've been trying to get XN to coordinate plans with his family to go visit them THIS Christmas since AUGUST...and we STILL don't have anything planned....so my confidence about any travel plans in 2011 is tenuous at best.
But a good friend is getting married in the Seattle area next summer, so hopefully we'll be able to go there.
We will be going to Virginia to visit our friends a few times, the earliest being in January. I'm visiting my friend in North Carolina in February. Those are the only ones in stone at the moment.
Our big trip next year will probably be hiking around the base of Mt. Rainier. It's either that or New Zealand, but I think we'll do Rainier in the summer and then NZ in late 2011 or early 2012.We're going to San Francisco in March. That's our only trip that has already been booked.
We're going someplace in June/July, but we haven't worked out all (any) of the details except for the dates yet.
Labor Day is also up in the air, but we won't be able to go far since DH will be out of vacation time after the trips in March and June/July.
You will absolutely LOVE NZ. I have daydreams about going back all the time.
We're going to Las Vegas in January, which will be a nice break from the snow and ice.
This Spring or Fall, we'll do a bigger trip-- probably Europe. France, Italy, Czech Republic, Benelux, or Sweden/Denmark (we have friends in Sweden too-- weird!) are being thrown around. Last year, we had the cruisetacular, and M and I are itching for a "real" vacation.
