we're staying here: Privilege Aluxes and it looks freaking incredible!
we're going at the end of january, leaving on a wednesday morning (6am!) and coming back the following tuesday night. we booked through expedia and chose the All Inclusive option in a Suite Deluxe and it's $1600 for both of us for airfare and hotel.
belize will have to wait but heck, this looks like just what the doctor ordered.

You will have a great time! I know you have the AI option but you have to go to the restaurants - there are so many good ones. Whatever you do, you have to hunt down baseball tacos....there's no way the place would pass a health inspection here but OMG, best freaking tacos ever. I still crave them. Here's my old bio page about Isla with other restaurants at the bottom. If you're planning on exploring the island, google "map chick maps" - they are invaluable for that area of Mexico.

DH's Cousin and his wife went to that same resort for their honeymoon and loved it! They had one of the suites with the hot tub outside and the pictures look amazing.
