ouch... I need to wake up

Has this ever happened to you ladies?

They installed those clicky door locks on our bathroom doors in the office and you have to punch the code in before you can open the door.  Previously there  were no locks and the door just opened but about a month ago some creep followed one woman in, did not do anything just sat in the stall next to her and was saying creepy stuff to her.

So, today, apparently before my coffee kicked in, I went to the bathroom and with full force pushed the door... I forgot to put in the code and hit myself really hard against it... my knee and head are red...no bruses yet.

Well, now I am laughing about it... a colleague saw me, he sits right next to me, and cannot stop giggling... it's funny but it hurts!

  • That's pretty funny!!

At our work our front door has a HUGE sign right above the handle that says Pull.  Even with the sign, I cannot count the times every day that someone goes to leave the office (clients not staff) and turns the lock and locks themselves in instead of PULLING the door.

    Ha!

People always pull instead of pushing when they try to leave our office. Even employees sometimes. I secretly laugh at them.

  • I think I read a psychology article on this phenomenon... it said that people will push the door about 75% more often even when there is a PULL sign on them.  That article said that it's because both words look so similar and our brains do not register the difference in time before our natural habit of assuming it's the easier thing (pushing is easier than pulling) kicks in.  I kinda believe it... I always push.
