I feel like I should be concerned

DS goes to 'One of the best schools in the US' this according to those wonderful little rating articles, locals, and awards and such. I do wonder, however, if they realize they have misspelled 'sophomore' S-O-P-H-M-O-R-E not once, but twice, both on the kids id tags and on a printed banner. Now they have twice spelled 'special' S-P-E-C-E-A-L in their SPECEAL EDITION newsletter.

Someone needs spell check for the New Year.....

Re: I feel like I should be concerned

  • Well they certainly are SPECEAL.

You should say something to the principal or whoever is in charge and don't make light of it. In an age where there is spell check everywhere this is utterly ridiculous. I would make a huge stink about it, but then I'm a grammar/spelling nazi.

  • That's embarrassing.  I would be concerned that none of the teachers or administrators have noticed.  Even moreso if you're paying tuition at this school.
  •

    Yeah that's terrible!!

  • I mentioned it again to someone today. (I said something in the beginning of the year when the ID tags came back.) Yes, I'm a writer and can get irritated by poor grammar/spelling, whathaveyou. If this was online, I'd just shrug a bit because I have twitchy fingers and have been cursed by typo demons. The point I made was that these are print items and these are costly mistakes. At the very least someone should fine-line edit the newsletter before printing.

I somehow managed to get myself signed up as the new editor.

  • Sounds like a very machiavellian way to get a new editor. How devious!
