I am sad today

I am sad. Yesterday was my last day home alone with Will. : ( I don't go back to work for another week, but we are having the nanny start today. I really like her and think that she will do a great job, but I am jealous that I won't be the one that gets to spend everyday with him. I hope this gets easier, because I can't imagine what a wreck I will be on my first day back.

My friend had a really hard time with this. She did say it got better; but it's hard the first few days.

I wonder if you guys could skype on your break or something so that you could see Will during the day?

I know how you feel, too. It'll get better. It won't always be the easiest thing in the world, but Will will be fine, and you'll still have plenty of time with him. The first few weeks were hard for me, too.

It will definitely get better. Something else that can make it better is knowing that Will is going to be at home, in familiar surroundings, with one person paying attention to him all day. It is going to be great for his development!

I'm going to be honest with you, if you're anything like me that jealousy never fully goes away. Nine months later it's still there buried in the back of my mind, I've just learned not to let it eat me up. It will get easier to leave him - the first few days will be awful, but it does get easier.

I'm sorry, I'm sure it's going to be a major adjustment for you. It's great that you'll get to spend a week with the nanny and see how she interacts with Will. Maybe that can help you feel at ease a little?

It gets better once you get used to it. I was always jealous of Nate's daycare teachers, though.

I survived today. We are still have issues with him taking a bottle, but hopefully that will get better. I really do love his nanny, she does so well with him. Thanks for all the good thoughts.

I'm sorry Steph. Maybe this will be a good thing for you? Give you some time to yourself? I don't know if that helps at this point, but at least you love the nanny!
