Ice Cream Cake poll!
So I'm going to try to make an ice cream cake, jelly-roll style.
I need intesting cake / ice cream flavor combinations.
What would be your dream blend?

Some ideas that have me going oooo.....
Chocolate Cake / Hazelnut gelato
Strawberry Cake / Strawberry Ice Cream (with chocolate glaze)
I've had chocolate cake / mint chocolate chip in the past, which is good.
Don't know what I'd do with butter pecan.... but I'd love to do something...
Dark Chocolate cake with Black Cherry or Choc-Cherry Chip ice cream
Coconut cake with Pistachio ice cream
I bet Butter Pecan ice cream would go well with Rum Cake...but, you'd probably have to syringe the rum in after you roll the combo so the cake isn't too delicate/mushy.
Dream blend? One of the following
Lemon cake with Burnt Caramel gelato OR Caramel cake with Blood Orange gelato
Not a huge rum cake fan... What about carrot cake? I'm trying to imagine the two flavors together. Maybe Banana cake?

Shortcake with strawberry ice cream! It's just a classic combo that I am a total sucker for. Also, not everyone likes chocolate (if you're making it for a group). I would just make sure no one has any allergies before deciding, because even that butter pecan can turn lethal to someone with nut allergies. have fun and please let us know what you decide and how it turns out! Damn. Now I want some.
