Poll: Your favorite Christmas cookies/treats?

What's your favorite kind?  Im trying to compile a list of what to make this year and need ideas :)

Re: Poll: Your favorite Christmas cookies/treats?

  • Honestly, I just love good ol' chocolate chip cookies anytime of year!  At Christmas, though, you can't go wrong with sugar cut-out cookies.  (Have you ever made Ashlee's recipe?  Super yummy!)

Oh...for a non-cookie treat, fudge is always a good option.

  • This year I'm going to do granola, chocolate dipped peppermint sticks, caramel corn, raspberry almond thumbprints, molasses cookies and white chocolate cranberry cookies I think.
  • All the cookies that Caroline makes :)

I love chocolate chip cookies and I just do the break and bake (I know, I know).

Ashlee's sugar cookies are pretty good and I believe they are very simple to make.

I think I am going to make some choc. covered pretzels this year

Ashlee's sugar cookie recipe is my favorite!

  • I'm with Carrie - I'm a fan of simple, good old fashioned chocolate chip cookies, BUT, it is nice to change things up at Christmas.

I think oatmeal raisin are a nice Christmas option, because to me, they are a "cozy" cookie. And you can put some cinnamon in them, or replace the raisins with cranberries to make them more seasonal.

My mom makes some sort of little pecan something or other (yeah, big help I am) - I'm going to make them for the Christmas packages we give our neighbors - once I get the recipe, I'll post it.

  • my grandmother always makes divinity, fudge and peanut brittle. I'm not a huge sweets person, so I can't eat much of what she makes.

I do like seasoned pecans though. I made cinnamon/sugar ones for coworkers a couple of years ago. when we were in DC we tried some homemade pecans/almonds that were spicy. they were so good! I'm going to try and find a recipe for those.

have you ever made cheese straws? that's another savory treat :) I use this recipe. I'm going to cut them w/ a christmas tree cookie cutter and take to dh's family's dirty santa. I've done the sticks like she does them for parties and they look pretty fancy! :)

I love the idea of making those cheese straws in a Christmas shape.  I might have to steal your idea!  Thank you :)

Do you happen to have a recipe for the divinity?!  My great grandma made these all the time, and they were my Mom's favorite.
