Follow up. I met the neighbor.
I brought over a half batch of my cranberry oatmeal chocolate chip cookies. She is a little older. Her husband died about a year ago and she's downsizing from the family home. Her grown daughter was there helping her move. She was really happy I came by, I think. We exchanged numbers.
I took my "attack dog" too. Just in case they were scary. hee hee. 
Yay for friendly neighbors and being a friendly neighbor.
