Gifts for Co-workers

I work at a really small family-owned (not my family) business, so I only need to buy for 6 people or so. Last year I gave them homemade canned spaghetti sauce, but I didn't make enough to give any out this year. Ideas? I'm looking to stay in the $10 or less range. TIA.

Re: Gifts for Co-workers

  • I think those cookies in a jar are super cute!!

I usually do a big tray of treats for everyone to share, and then I get something small for each of the ladies in the office.  Last year it was handpainted coffee mugs with hot chocolate, peppermint bark and candies inside.  I've also done BBW lotions, small bottles of liquor, etc.

I guess it also depends on the people you work with...  are they always stopping at starbucks/tim hortons/mcdonalds on the way in for coffee?  If so, get them a GC there.   Always have dry hands and love yummy lotions?  Hit up BBW.

  • I'm super close to the girls in my office, they are like my moms...they are a little bit older than me.  Anyway, I don't buy for them.  There would only be 3 to buy for but it was an added expense and something I didn't want to start.

  • But...Target had muffin mix packages on sale in cute bags for $4 a piece this week.  I thought about doing that for Jeff's teachers.  I like the cookie jar idea too though.

  • I did this:

since I work with all ladies.  Adding wax and a wick to teacups seemed like an easy, economical, homemade gift.  I was wrong. It was actually harder than I thought to find nice cheap teacup sets. The wax at Michaels was a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.

Then I discovered, after attempting to dye the wax with food coloring, that you need special wax dye. More money.

(Shoulda went to dollar store for candles.)

In the future, I'll probably get gift cards for someplace like Beaners.

What an awesome idea!   Sorry it ended up being such a PITA though, heh. :)
