Do you have a fireplace?

If no where do you put your stockings?  How does Santa get in your house?

What do you tell your kids about Santa arriving on his sleigh?

This questions all puzzle me about florida living.

Re: Do you have a fireplace?

  • We have a fireplace but our mantle is a joke. It is a tiny little wooden shelf. It is on my long list of home improvements. No kiddos yet so stockings aren't a huge deal, but I believe all Florida homes should have fireplaces because it is so much better than turning on your dusty heater for one week per year.

  • The stockings go on the bar, or on a shelf...

Santa is magical he can shrink down to fit in through the cracks in the doors, or the chimney vent thing on the roof. He stills lands on the roof!

  • Here is a pic of what I have to work with, with too much flash

  • We hang them on our bar.

Santa has a master key to unlock all the doors...duh!

  • We don't have a fire place.. Chris wants to build a fake on ::big fat eye roll::

We haven't figured out what we are going to do w/ stockings yet. Diva & Wyatt will chew on them if we hang them from the bar.

As far as Santa, I have no idea. I don't remember when I quit believing in Santa- but we did have a fireplace in atleast 3 or 4 of the houses I lived in as a kid.

  • No fireplace, we hang ours on the wall for now(but we don't have kids either yet!) and we have a little bar area we could use eventually so we will have to say Santa came in through our sliding glass door maybe? Haha.

  • we dont have a fireplace, but I sure wish we did right about now!  we hang our stockings on a shelf.

we probably wont be in our place for more than another year or two so hopefully our next house will have a fireplace.  If it doesnt, I will just tell the kids that Santa comes through the front door, like my parents told me :)

  • I just found this video and I would love love love this mantle!  The builder says "under $100" but we would have to buy the tools etc, it would cost us a grand.  I'm on a mission now.   Great.  (said in a sarcastic tone, I don't need another project that is not free, but I wannnnnt it)

  • We have a fireplace with a nice, big mantle so that's where our stockings go. And growing up in Tallahassee, we also had a fireplace in our house so there was never a question of how Santa came in!.

  • No fireplace.  I have a plant shelf in the family room, and I put christmas stuff up there and I hang all of my stockings from their too.  It looks cute.  I have garland that lights up that sits behind them.  Isaiah has not asked about how Santa gets here, but we read the Night before Christmas over and over before the holidays, so I am surrrrre the question is coming.  I plan to tell him that Santa can come through our front door because we dont have snow and ice to worry about.  He has to go through the chimney in the houses up north because of that :-)
