new-ish to the area

Hi!

I used to hang around this board quite a bit when I lived closer to all of you. The move to Savannah pulled me away to focus on other things for a while.

However, I'm moving to the Sandy Springs/ Roswell Rd. area in about a month and could really use a recommendation for a doggy daycare and boarding facility close by. Our pup is a 7 month old Belgian Malinois with a lot of energy and needs to be able to run around and play with other dogs of his energy level and size (approximately 60 lbs right now, up to 80 lbs. full grown).

He wouldn't be going every day, but we would prefer somewhere that also offered boarding and grooming so that he could get used to the staff and be more comfortable when he does have to stay for a few days at a time.

We're hoping for somewhere relatively inexpensive (our current daycare is $20 for 8 hours of daycare and $60 for overnight stays with daycare and afternoon pick-up). Something close to that price range would be ideal, however I understand that cost of living is different in Atlanta and cost may have to be sacrificed to insure quality.

TIA and I look forward to chatting with you again!

  • It?s not that close to you but I use Doguroo. The first time we had to board our pups we visited almost every place in the area and liked it the best. We use them regularly when we go out of town now and have nothing but good thing to say. It?s nowhere near where we live (Stockbridge) but well worth the drive for me.

  • I know there are probably closer ones to you, but we use Bark Station in Woodstock. It is $20 for a full day. For boarding w/ daycare included is $30 a night and you can drop them off when they open the day you leave and pick them up right before they close the day you return home. Which is great so that is basically 2 days of play and 1 night for $30. They haven't been open that long, but they are great and our little fur baby Duke LOVES it there.
