...is old and falling apart and everyday this week I've gone outside to 3 huge shepards in my back yard. Luckily they get along with my 2 pekingese, but my neighbor said they may bite. Great. FIrst they busted a huge hole in the fence. I found the dogs in my yard and went next door and politely told her and she apologized profusely, came and got them, and screwed drywall to cover the hole which is UG-LY. Now their dogs are digging under the fence to come play with mine. We are at 3 holes now. They seem nice to me, but I don't want a bite so I'm not about to try them. H said I should have "taken one for the team" and let it bite me so we could sue. He's kidding. I hope. But I want the fence replaced without having to be rude. We replaced the fence on the other side of our house because that neighbors dog broke a hole through it also, but that fence was ours. This neighbors fence is hers so she should be the one to replace it. It is going to cost at least 500. We would even do the work if they would just pay the cost of supplies. I guess it is big girl shorts time. Ugh. I hate asking someone to dish out that much money before the holidays.
Re: my neighbors fence... (long vent)
Do you have an HOA? Maybe they can request she fix the fence.
I'm w/ Nicole.
They should be keeping their dogs in their yard. I'm paranoid that Wyatt will some how escape our yard. Heaven knows we don't need a big bad pit bull running around the neighbor hood.
How handy can he be if he hasn't fixed the fence.
I wouldn't want to talk to the neighbor either (remember how I didn't when that wack job stuck her hand in our fence).. But, it is for her own good. It will be a serious problem if her dogs get out and attack you, your dog, or someone else.
with a live in handyman, that *** should get fixed.
Option 1 yeah, i'd gp over there and nicely tell her that you can not have her dogs in your yard and you need her to fix the fence so they dogs can not get through.
Option 2 you get a fence to cover the eye sore on your side of the yard.
Option 3 you call animal control when they get out. each and every time.

Thank you for the confidence builders. I think I will start with something like this... "When you are able to get the new fence to replace the old one, Brian and I will be happy to help you install it. We did the other side of our yard since that one belonged to us and it was between $400 and $500. This is much better than what it could end up costing if the dogs keep getting out".
or what do you think of this idea... I get a written estimate from our handyman from work who is awesome, and give it to her very nicely saying this would be a great deal for her.
