Kasa

About 10 years ago, my mom had to have her retina reattached.

It IS scary.

She has had no issues since.

Re: Kasa

  • No problems with cataracts yet?  The ophalmalogist told my mom that this will cause cataracts later on.

Did she get all of the vision back that she lost when it detached?

I guess my mom's was a pretty bad case because it took awhile for her to get into surgery (they had to drive to TC, see a doctor there, and then wait hours to get into surgery), and in the meantime it kept getting worse.

Glad to hear that everything turned out good for your mom though!

  • A detached retina freaks me out. Because my vision is so poor, I run a high risk of it happening to me. If it does, they will have to load me up on valium as soon as I walk through the ER doors.

    Hope your mom heals well.

Have you read about the symptoms and early warning signs?  It's something that has to be operated on ASAP because the longer it goes without treatment, the higher the likelihood of permanent damage.

    It is definitely scary!

  • My mom has had terrible vision since she was... born?

No cataracts.  No vision issues.  They are watching the other one closely to make sure it's staying put.

I remember when it happened, we were all so worried.  I understand where you're at.  I hope there are no others issues.
