Re: time to start thinking..
we're going to lay low, and enjoy a cake from our wedding cake baker, mostly beceause I go back to work after holiday vacation the next day.
For our gifts (I heard 1 year is paper?), we're going on a cruise the week before our anniversary, so we're saying that our gifts are the cruise tickets.
I've also ordered a bottle of champagne to be sent toour room on the first night of the cruise because thats what I did on the cruise that we got engaged on.
We're having a little weekend away, reminiscent of the wedding weekend. Our venue invites you back for your first anniversary dinner, so we're doing that, staying at the Inn, and then going out to brunch. The tough part is going to be keeping it an "us" weekend, since our families are so local. We just want a quiet romantic weekend together. We'll need it since after Christmas he'll have been on overnights for 12 weeks.
As for the paper tradition...I have no idea yet.
my blog
We're headed up to Milwaukee for a quick weekend away!
I had B-pics done back in March, so I'll be giving him the album.
I absolutely can't believe it's almost been a year! In some ways, it seems like so much longer...but in others - seriously, it's almost a year? Crazy.

heh, i got distracted from my own thread. woops!
DH is still holding out on getting his hands on tickets to the winter classic that day, so we're not making any definite plans for awhile. he has put a massive guilt trip on a coworker who has 4 season tix between her and her brother. she is going, but her brother doesn't really want to. there is a chain of people he "might" give the tickets to, so DH keeps dropping his name and reminding her that it's the same day as our first anny. here's hoping!
if that doesn't work out though, we'll stay at home to watch the game. we haven't decided whether to do a nice dinner out (our venue gave us a $100 GC as a wedding gift, but we ate that up for my birthday..woops!) or to plan a cheap weekend away the following weekend.
but at least there will be cake! i can't wait to order our free cake from the bakery with the filling of MY choice, since DH picked the filling for the wedding!
i haven't thought of a gift yet though. it's paper or cotton. still thinking!
Today is actually my 11 month!
We're taking our honeymoon finally, which will be from Dec 30th to Jan 7th. We'll be in Paris on the day of the anniversary so we'll be going all out for a freaking amazing meal (it's going to be our splurge day), topped off with yummy cake!
have fun on your trip!!! i loved paris! i think the eiffel tower at night was my favorite part of the trip. you're going to have a great time!
I'm SO jealous of Alise's cruise and Ashley's trip to Paris!
Please take lots of pictures so I can live vicariously through both of you!
