Container for top tier..

So our cake is settled in the back of our freezer all wrapped up to avoid freezer burn...(hopefully). We are going to Punta Cana for our 1st Anniv. in April and need to unwrap the cake and put it in something easy to transport on the airplane. We are totally eating it on the beach.

Any suggestions? Everything is too small or too big? What have you used?

It's going to depend on your cake's shape and size. I used a heavy-duty plastic storage container that I bought at Target (I can't remember the brand name) that I knew would fit. I flipped it over, setting the cake on the inside of the lid and using the bowl part like a cake dome. Honestly, I wouldn't have bothered to try to fly with it because that sound like an awful lot of effort for year-old cake, but to each her own. :-)

I froze mine solid on a cookie sheet, then put it in a food saver bag and vacuum sealed it. If you take it in your carry on, it should survive that way. thaw it out of the package to avoid having to lick the frosting off of the bag
