Neice Present Help

I just got the present I ordered for my neice from Amazon today.  Despite the website saying it was for ages 2+, the box says it's for ages 5+.  Obviously, I will be returning what I bought her, but I now have to do a last minute scramble to get her a present.  Anyone have any ideas of what I can get her for Hanukah?  She's 2 1/2.

Re: Neice Present Help

  • From what I recall about our FGs, they looooove anything related to Dora the Explorer.

  • Tim and Shannon's kids right now (just under 2.5) like anything that involves running around and being loud.

I think that age is a good age for dolls (like, the pretend baby kind) and fake sort of kitchen things.  They're at an age where (from what I read when looking for their birthday presents) their imagination is really developing.

Also, Aquadoodle.  That thing is cool.  I want one for my desk.

  • I'd stick with a theme that they like, Elmo, Dora, etc.

If not, maybe just some fun clothes, which I know sucks for a kid

  • I just saw this on a sale website and fell in love.

     that link should work.

  • I got my almost 3 yr old neice a light up etchasketch when they visited at thanksgiving... it was prob a tad too advanced.

Ditto Raynes, they are really into imagination and mimicking at that age, so play sets of anything grown up (doctor set or grocery store things) She also loves videos like mickey's playhouse and dora and sid the science kid

  • My 5 year old goddaughter loves playing with dolls and board games. We got her Candyland and she loves it.

We got Taboo, the Mickey Mouse Edition, for Manuel's goddaughter because she loves anything with Mickey. I think kids tend to like anything related to the characters that they love so maybe get her something with her favorite character.

  • Thanks ladies.  Sorry to PNR before, but I have been slammed at work this week, and being sick on Monday didn't help.  Unfortunately, I have no idea who my neice's favorite character is.  SIL isn't close with B or I, and despite attempts to get together, we rarely see our neice.  The worst part about it is that SIL lives across the street from my parents.  I think we'll probably go for a present that is somewhat more generic--the acquadoodle looks awesome, and I love that it doesn't make a mess!
