Bachelorette Party

I am planning a bachelorette party for my sister for this Jan/Feb.  She is a city girl through and through so I was thinking about doing something in San Francisco.

I mentioned to her that I thought we could all go over on Friday night and stay in a nice hotel, saturday morning have a spa day and then that afternoon have a limo pick up up to do some wine tasting.  Then out for dinner and drinks saturday night, come home on sunday.

She seemed to really love the idea, but I have never really went out in SF so I am a bit clueless.  I would really love some suggestions of hotels (with a spa) and any great places for dinner and then drinks afterwards.

Thanks!!!

Re: Bachelorette Party

  • You're probably going to get alot of reccs for AsiaSF for dinner (if you want Friday night to be fun and carefree)...there is dinner upstairs, with a show put on by some of the "girls"...ok, they are drag queens. And downstairs is a bar and dance floor. I've been there twice, and both times we all had a blast.

Not too far away from there, is a karaoke bar called The Mint. There are tv screens all over the bar, so even if someone is up doing karaoke pretty much anyone can read the words and sing. I've never heard an entire place sing a song until I went there...it was tons of fun.

As for hotels, I couldn't tell you any with spas in them. I've stayed in the city a handful of times but I've never been the person in charge of the hotel.

  • I've been to Asia SF a few times...fun the first time, but after that you realize how overpriced the food and drinks are, not to be a debbie downer, but you are definitely paying for "the show" and that's it.

If you want to go out on the town check out three babes. I've gone for bachelorette parties and birthday parties....SO FUN! The best part was that no one was the bad guy for picking the wrong place or rounding up the troops to move onto the next locale. Also...no driving, no parking and no waiting in lines or paying covers. I highly recommend. www.threebabes.com

I've actually never done the spa thing in SF, but I'm sure most of the hotel spas are great (albeit a tad overpriced). Usually when I'm in the city we're going for budget pedicures and awesome thai food. Mmm....sounds good now!

I have stayed in quite a few SF hotels...just depends on where you want to be, what the groups' style is and how much cash you are willing to drop. There are great spas not attached to hotels, I'm sure, and you'd probably get more bang for your buck.

    Happy planning!

You got some good suggestions on locations.  But I just wanted to add a my thoughts. The below...

Would be a lot to cram in, in one day.  To drive from SF to the bottom of the Sonoma wine country... is about an hour.  Just FYI.

Love all the W spas...they use Bliss products!  And I've stayed at that hotel also.  It's really nice and would totally stay there again.

I was wondering if this was going to be too much.  She has said she wanted to do so many things that I think I was trying to cram it all into one big jam packed day.  I think i'll be scaling back, not to mention its getting $$$$
