Christmas Cards

I'm really excited to send our Christmas cards... it's a dumb thing I get excited about every year. :)  Anyway, when is it acceptable to send a Christmas card?

Re: Christmas Cards

  • I think as soon as Santa Claus comes around the corner at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, anything Christmas becomes acceptable.  This year, I have some friends who are studying abroad in Europe, so I will be sending mine out within the next few days to make sure everyone gets theirs in time.

  • Well the poll question asked when I would send a Christmas card.  I aim for mid December, so that's what I voted for.

That being said, I agree anytime after Thanksgiving is fair game.

Good point, I changed the wording of the question so it's more general than when you would actually send your own.  Thanks! :)

  • We just got our first one in the mail yesterday and I didn't think anything of it. I agree that after Thanksgiving is fair game - some people are really on top of things...me, I am excited that I got mine ordered before Dec 22 this year :)
  • Ditto after Thanksgiving. I haven't even bought my cards yet, though. I'm just a bit behind this year...

  • I sent mine out right after Thanksgiving. I didn't send any out last year and felt bad, so I wanted to get a jump on things. I also didn't want to forget.
  • I agree, anything after Thanksgiving is fair game but I prefer Mid December.  We got our first two in the mail yesterday.  I love this time of year because there is actually fun stuff in the mailbox instead of just bills.  :)
  • We send ours early December because they mostly have to go to the opposite end of the country so we want to make sure they make it in lots of time.
