Sensitive skin and waxing the "lady parts"

Hey there ladies,

I know there was another thread recently about waxing, but I thought I'd start a different one since it's related but not completely along the same lines. I have pretty sensitive skin, I don't have to use anything special for it, but I do need to be careful how long I wear irritating fabrics, what kinds of lotions/body care products I use if they have a fragrance in them, and especially shaving. I get ingrown hairs like none other if I shave against the grain in my bikini zone - it's really gross and disgusting so I won't go into details, but it's very painful and the ingrown hairs get infected right off the bat. Now I shave "with the grain" I guess to avoid the effects I've experienced in the past, but of course the trade-off is the area is never really "smooth," just "maintained."

The breaking out from ingrown hairs also happened on a much smaller scale the last few times I've gotten my eyebrows waxed, so I've gone back to plucking them (which doesn't cause any problems). Does anyone have any recommendations on maybe some kind of product I can use to avoid hairs becoming ingrown? Or is just always going to happen because that's the way my hair naturally grows?

I'd really like to try a full Brazilian waz if possible before the honeymoon, but I'd prefer to build up to it of course - as recommended in the other thread on waxing - and first try maybe just a regular bikini wax to see how my skin handles it. Any advice?
